Before Thrifle he spent years studying US retail policy, affiliate networks, and the gap between what stores publish and what shoppers actually experience at checkout and at returns counters. Thrifle exists because he kept getting burned by surprise restocking fees and short-window exceptions that weren't mentioned anywhere before purchase.
